thank god that i didnt use the towel trick it sounded bad and then i found this website. Do you have to do this method every time you turn on your Xbox 360?
No mate.. this is just to simulate the fix for this problem. When you press the heatsink well enough, the heat is dissipated well. This is called x-clamp fix and it’s further shown in the Xbox Repair guide on my website. you use this method once and do it right, you fix it for a long time.

ok, i used to have the rrod on my 360, and i fixed it myself, but now i have the e74, i checked the gpu and it still looks good, so i tried tightening down my screws for the heat sinks, and that didnt work either. any ideas on how to help?

temporary fix: jam sum sticks(your choice) as long as they dont brake, into the back of ur shitbox. then turn on 4 5 mions so the fan cant move. open dic tray. close disc tray. restart. might not work first time but i keep doing it and u get like 3-10 hours of playtime

check if the solders on the GPU are not messed up on the motherboard. Otherwise, you need resoldering
sorry to hear that mate.. MS should implement a software tied with the xbox to auto shut the system if the temperature reaches a certain amount.

just tighten those heatsink to the mobo with washers. Make sure the pressure is uniform and not too tight

ok dude i did the whole thing where you take off the x clamps and do the whole screw and nylon shit and it worked for like months then i turned it on one day and i got this shit….is it still going to work if i did that?
