How To Fix the Xbox 360 Unplayable Disc Problem

Fixing the “Unplayable Disc” problem for the Xbox 360 Hitachi Disc Drive: 1.) Disassemble your 360 and strip it down to the inner machina. 2.) Unplug the two cords from the back of the disc drive. 3.) Remove the disc drive and use a knife to take off the circular piece on the top of the drive. 4.) Remove the magnet that is placed underneath the circular piece. 5.)Unscrew the top and bottom casings of the disc drive. 6.) Use a lubricant such as WD-40 to lubricate the spindle of the motor on the bottom part of the disc drive. 7.) Super-Glue the washer of the disc drive into place. 8.) Re-plug your disc drive back into your console. 9.) Eject the disc tray. 10.) Place a game disc into the disc tray. 11.) Place the top magnet over the center of your disc. 12.) Close the disc tray. 13.) Make sure the laser reads up and down the entire disc. 14.) Get back to playing your games without the “Unplayable Disc” error. -Tweed

When ever I put a game in. It starts to read the disc, then it just says. “Open Tray” like I never put the game in. I have to open the tray over and over until it finally reads the disc. Anyone know what to do?

I had that same problem before I got this new one but basically the x box justt wasn’t grabbing the disk so I put it in the up right position and tilted it slightly to the side and I Emphasize only slightly because to much will grind up ur game and then the x box grasps the disk and begins to spin again.

Be sure to tilt it clockwise from the front as if u were goin to turn the console upside down but, DON’T turn it up side down and do this while the console is reading the disk and then gently return the x box to its upright position GENTLY and game the fuck out of that piece of shit before its next problem. Hope that helps.

tilt it when the xbox tries to read the disk, from the upright position

@Urza83 I set it so it automatically reads the disc as soon as you turn on your system. This might help. Its in the system settings, under startup, select “disc”.

    multiplayer doesn’t work
    it loads the title screen..
i got the disc resurfaced nothing happened
i did the paper slide into the xbox and it didn’t do anything
i would tilt the xbox slightly but i don’t want to risk scratching the shit out of my disc.
