XBOX 360 Repair 3 Red Lights of Death Rrod X-Clamp Fix

This is a quick vid on fixing the 3 RLod in the Xbox 360. There are NO swaps in this video…it is the same xbox from start to finish. I’ve done about 20 of these the same way.

Brilliant tutorial, but about this arctic silver 5.
Do you just put a paper-thin layer of it on the “shiny” surface on the motherboard?
    And that’s it? :o

how do you fix the x clamp part, because ive tried #8 and M5 washers and neither fit. Do you forcefully fit em on…? because now im using #10s and I still have the 3RROD…tis sucks. I had to give it to my uncle for $30 to fix it using the screws way. Have this work for anyone else…?

hey im not saying your method doesnt work because clearly it does. however I think you should know that the temperature sensor is located in the CPU not the GPU. this means that when you overheat the console with the fans unplugged, the CPU will over heat first causing the temperature sensor to shut down the xbox. This isnt good because you want the GPU to over heat. Therefore to prolong the life of the repair you should take the fan and place it on dvd drive and CPU heatsink then heat for 15min

Dude what is the point in posting a video like this where you can’t see anything cos your hands are in the way most of the time and then you pile a load of cans in front of the camera.. I mean.. WTF

Hey Its not only happening to the XBOX, My original 60GB PS3 died on me while playing Killzone 2 after owning my original 60GB PS3 for almost 3 years… But I fix it with a heat gun and use thick toothpaste Its been running now for 6 months with no problem. But like I said I don’t own a Xbox but my brother had 2 already because of this. I have a heat gun and tried 1000F on toothpaste and slowly boiled… I don’t know what temperature the CPU runs on the PS3
